The Bravo Zulu award is a code made up of the B and the Z flags in the international code-set of nautical signal flags. There are many such 2-flag codes, each with their own particular message. It's like the "10" codes used by police forces and radio operators. For example, you've probably heard of "10-4," meaning "Okay, that's affirmative." This version of the Bravo Zulu is made up of the two flags (the B and the Z), but it also includes an empty rung on the included ladder. The rung is painted white enamel, and includes 2 brass-plated 1-inch split rings. The ladder rungs are made from PVC tubing, use 1/2" split rings to slide over 5/16" braided nylon rope. They're held in place by a simple overhand knot.
You can use the two split rings to hang an additional plaque, certificate or other item. Or, if you prefer, you can easily untie the knot on one side of the white rung, slide off the two rings, and use a different method of attaching something. Below you can see two typical 5x7" picture frames. Depending on the frame borders, you have 8-inches between the bottom pieces of rope. A thin-framed 8x10" frame vertically would work . Use the frame to hold a certificate, citation, award of appreciation or even a photograph. With two small eye-screws in the wood at the top of the frames, you could use some thin brass chain or even picture wire threaded through the split rings to hang a frame from the bottom rung. |
